Family Portrait

For 's Backstory task! "Take a trip down memory lane! Show an important memory from your character's past. It could be a pleasant or unpleasant memory."

This a family portrait of The Sabatinis from the year 1972 that Brad keeps on his dresser.

This was a happier time in Brad's life. His family was very tight-knit at this point. Brad learned to bake from his mother and spent time with her in the kitchen listening to Fleetwood Mac. His love of cats came from his father when he rescued a litter of kittens they found when they went camping together. They kept and raised all five of them. Brad and Blake were close and Blake would protect him from bullies at school that picked on him for being fat, short and dorky.

As Blake grew older, he grew more cold and distant, and their parents vanished in 1987. Their disappearance still remains a mystery. Blake and Brad were pretty distant for years up until that event. Blake became closer to Brad again and became more over-protective of him, often underestimating how capable he is of handling things on his own, and sometimes making things worse when he meddled in his business, which causes a big argument between them. Brad and Blake are like night and day and don't always see eye to eye on things or fully understand each other at times, but they deeply care for one another and are all each other have now.
