Where it all started

This is Brad's 'Weakness' task for The premise of this task was to show your character's weakness.


In the natural world, many different animal species use bright colours and patterns to advertise the fact that they are toxic, distasteful or dangerous.

This sums up Maxxy Malone.

Brad, however wears his rose-coloured glasses, blinding him to many red flags. (Hmm, maybe I should have made him be wearing literal rose-coloured sunglasses here... Well, this piece is rosey-coloured and kinda like you're already looking through rose-tinted shades, I guess. xD)

Brad's biggest weakness is that he is too idealistic and naive for his own good. This is especially displayed with his dynamic with Maxx Malone, who takes advantage of that and challenges his idealistic views. Maxx was a hitch-hiker he picked up on the roadside and brought back home with him, much to his brother's dismay. His brother, Blake, hated Maxx from the instant he met him and thought he was bad news... it turned out he was right about that.

Depicted here is the moment Brad first meets Maxx and when his life gets turned upside down. Brad wanted to help Maxx and also wanted a friend, as he was new in town. Maxx told Brad that he was a rockstar in a band called 'Sex Beest' from LA, despite never ever seeing his guitar and Maxx having an Austalian accent. Maxx also told him his friends were all assholes that ditched him, it seemed the whole world was against him! He also told him he was a runaway from an abusive home, despite having said earlier that he was kicked out of home, so which one was it? Idealistic and naive Brad gave him the benefit of the doubt though. Why would he lie about that? What reason did he have? Not only did Maxx lie... and terribly at that, but he also manipulated and used Brad.

Brad didn't believe that rotten people truly existed, only rotten actions... that was until he met Maxx. He wanted to believe that Maxx wasn't as rotten as Makayla and others had told him he was. He wants to see the best in people and hoped he could help Maxx, but some people are beyond help.

And here's where it all ended... or so Brad thought. Brad was done with Maxx, but Maxx wasn't done with Brad. "Nobody ditches Maxxy Malone and gets away with it!!" Maxx declared them rivals, and tried to ruin everything for Brad from then on. Brad now wishes he never picked up Maxx from that roadside.
