1. If your character (if they hail from a fantasy or previous century) listened to modern music (20th century and onward to present day), what genre/artists/bands would they like? Or dislike?My project takes place during 1988 and 1989. Makayla is versatile when it comes to music. She plays thrash metal in her band, but likes to explore other genres and find inspiration from various different sources. She feels stagnated when sticking to the same and singular thing for long periods, and this doesn’t just apply to music. She and her brother are both ironic fans of Maxx’s “band” Sex Beest. xD
2. If your character could develop a new skill, what skill would it be?Maybe controlling her anger and emotions better. She finds them hard to control and keep level-headed when she’s outraged and upset, which can be a hindrance for her.
3. If your character could take a vacation/holiday, where would they be interested in going to?She would be interested in going to Brazil and meeting her grandparents, seeing where her mother grew up, and learning more about her culture.
4. What qualities or skills does your character believe others value them for?Her bandmates, Craig and Kurt value her as an excellent guitar player, and having a female vocalist adds a unique flare to their sound too. Craig never intended to keep Makayla in the band for long, due to them being siblings and having strong and clashing personalities, but he could never find any other guitarist he liked as much as her. Her boyfriend, Brad, admires how she speaks her mind and doesn't take crap from anyone, influencing him to want to be like that too.
5. If they lost these qualities or skills, do they fear to lose their value? Or do they have confidence in their own self beyond qualities and skills?Although she has confidence in herself beyond her qualities and skills, music is something Makayla is passionate about and she would be depressed if she could no longer play it anymore.

Does your character draw motivation/strength from someone they care about or a cause/ambition they have/follow?Yes, she draws motivation and strength from her mother a lot, and she's also where she learned how to sing and play guitar from. That aside, Makayla is her own person and follows her own heart and desires.
7. Does your character believe that life follows a natural order, or do they believe they can create their own fate?Makayla is a firm believer that you create your own fate, and she will defy anyone that gets in her way of doing what she wants to do with her life. She believes; you're here for a good time, not a long time, and there's nothing worse than not living your life the way you want to live it.
8. How does your character view emotions and reason?Makayla is driven by her heart and values being happy the most in life. If something is making her unhappy, it has to go! Be that a job, a person, a place, e.t.c. Regardless of how good the money may be with a job, e.t.c. Makayla also has the tendency to lose her temper when she's pushed and has difficulty controlling her emotions when she's upset. She will also make decisions based on her feelings, often times being impulsive decisions. Makayla is an ENFP.
9. If your character could attend a karaoke party, what would be the most out-of-character yet ironically befitting artist/song would they belt out in front of everyone?Makayla would have fun at a karaoke party. Hmm, maybe that song would be: "You don't own me" by Leslie Gore.
10. What commonalities does your character see from our world that they see in their own world? (Or era, if the character is from our world, but from a previous era/century).Makayla: "Everything is the same... yet different. Cars, T.Vs, phones, e.t.c are still a thing, but they all look so different!"

Next up is, Craig Medeiros. Makayla’s brother! I will most likely enter him into the next round of OC-training

Or dislike?Craig is a Heavy Metal elitist and predominantly listens to Thrash metal, along with some other Heavy Metal sub-genres such as Death metal and NWOBHM. His favourite bands are: Kreator, Testament, Nuclear Assault, Razor, Slayer and Motörhead. He never deviates away from Heavy Metal and is close-minded and judgemental of anything outside of it. He hates Glam metal as he feels it’s disgraceful and not “real metal”. He also hates country music and dance music with a passion. He and his sister are both ironic fans of Maxx’s “band” Sex Beest. xD
2. If your character could develop a new skill, what skill would it be?He is currently the bassist and lead singer of the band, but he would be thrilled to also master the guitar and drums too.
3. If your character could take a vacation/holiday, where would they be interested in going to?Craig wants to travel the world on tour with his band Nuklear Intoxikation, rather than vacation/holiday.
4. What qualities or skills does your character believe others value them for?Underneath his tough jerk exterior, Craig does have a soft side deep down, but only shows this to his close friends and whomever his love interest is. He is also very protective of those he cares about--to a fault as he can be too overprotective. He is also an excellent bass guitarist and charismatic front man for his band.
5. If they lost these qualities or skills, do they fear to lose their value? Or do they have confidence in their own self beyond qualities and skills?Yes, Craig is very prideful and insecure. He doesn’t feel complete and valuable if he’s not in a band and doesn't have musical talent.
6. Does your character draw motivation/strength from someone they care about or a cause/ambition they have/follow?Craig was conditioned by his father, Leon, to be the way he is and is blind to his toxic influence. He is constantly trying to seek his approval and please him. He later draws strength from his partner (spoiler) whom his father strongly disapproves of. Regarding his band, he marches to the beat of his own drum. He’s always had a strong ambition for music and it’s in his nature to be a leader. Sometimes he marches to the beat of his drum too much, not listening to and not considering others though. xD
7. Does your character believe that life follows a natural order, or do they believe they can create their own fate?He believes that the world is his oyster and it’s there for him to play and perform.
8. How does your character view emotions and reason?Although Craig is more logically driven than emotional driven, he makes some pretty bad and impulsive decisions at times, and he can’t be reasoned with easily. When he has his mind set on something, it’s very hard to change his mind. Craig views emotions and crying as a sign of weakness and believes that men should never cry or display their vulnerabilities. Due to this he tries to hide his emotions and lashes out with bottled rage. Craig’s MBTI is:

Ain't gonna happen! I'm thinking that song would be "A boy named Sue" by Johnny cash! The line: "Son, this world is rough, and if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough" is exactly what his father would say to him, and he put him through a lot to "toughen" him up.
10. What commonalities does your character see from our world that they see in their own world? (Or era, if the character is from our world, but from a previous era/century).Craig: “Fuckin' oath, I’m glad that metal concerts n’ festivals are still a thing in the future!”

Lastly, here’s Brad Sabatini, who I entered into round 7 of OC-training
1. If your character (if they hail from a fantasy or previous century) listened to modern music (20th century and onward to present day), what genre/artists/bands would they like? Or dislike?Brad likes all different kinds of music. He’s very open-minded and willing to give anything a listen. His favourite genres are rock and Heavy metal though. His favourite bands would be: Black Sabbath, Uncle Acid, Led Zeppelin, Acid King, and Kyuss. He doesn’t like Maxx’s bad “music” and finds it hilarious, but he doesn’t have the heart to tell him. xD
2. If your character could develop a new skill, what skill would it be?Perhaps exercising: "Do no harm, but take no shit." xD He's way too much of a pacifist and struggles to be assertive and firm like his brother and girlfriend.
3. If your character could take a vacation/holiday, where would they be interested in going to?Brad would like to go anywhere and everywhere, the new faces and places excite him very much! He would specifically love to go to that cat island, because of course he would! xD
4. What qualities or skills does your character believe others value them for?Many people love Brad's cooking and consider him excellent at it. Brad is also very kind-hearted and generous, always wanting to help those in need. However he doesn't make the wisest decisions when it comes to this. He rescued stray cats, but took in way too many of them into his home. He also picked up a hitchhiker, Maxx, and gave him a place to stay, but he took advantage of him. Blake feels that Brad is way too soft and naive for his own good.
5. If they lost these qualities or skills, do they fear to lose their value? Or do they have confidence in their own self beyond qualities and skills?Brad doesn’t believe that your value stems from what you do, but who you are as a person. He has confidence in himself beyond his quality and skills, and feels that people are more than what they do.
6. Does your character draw motivation/strength from someone they care about or a cause/ambition they have/follow?Brad is just Brad. He just goes with whatever his heart says, even if others don't think it's wise. His mother, Eleonora, was the same way. Other people do have their influence on him though, Blake is like a voice of reason to him, and keeps his feet on the ground when his head is too much in the clouds. And Makayla opens his eyes to toxic influences like Maxx and helps keep him away from them.
7. Does your character believe that life follows a natural order, or do they believe they can create their own fate?Brad strongly believes that you create your own fate in life, cause’ it's your life and your experience is what you make of it.
8. How does your character view emotions and reason?Brad wears his heart on his sleeve and views the world through rose tinted glasses. His emotions often cloud his judgement and he makes impulsive decisions based on his emotions. He doesn't think things through or have any kind of strategy when dealing with problems. So, he makes some pretty silly decisions that put him in hot water. Despite wearing his emotions on his sleeve and being unafraid to cry, he does however repress his anger. Brad's MBTI is ENFP!
9. If your character could attend a karaoke party, what would be the most out-of-character yet ironically befitting artist/song would they belt out in front of everyone?I don't know if Brad could sing well or not, but he would love to belt out some cheesy songs! I think a song with lyrics that fit him would be: "Pollyanna (I believe in you)" by Catherine Warwick as he totally is a "Pollyanna". xD
10. What commonalities does your character see from our world that they see in their own world? (Or era, if the character is from our world, but from a previous era/century).Brad: "I thought cooking shows and animal doco shows were pretty rad, but entire CHANNELS?! That's even way better!"

His own band: Sex Beest is the best band ever, gosh!! Maxx's favourite genre of music is glam metal and he copy cats everything so poorly! He dislikes anything that's slow and not "rebel rocker" music, gosh!! And he hates any other band that gets more attention than him!
2. If your character could develop a new skill, what skill would it be?Maxx already believes he's skilled at everything and anything! He claims he's a master musician but has never picked up an instrument in his life, so I suppose it would actually be that! Being able to ACTUALLY play an instrument.
3. If your character could take a vacation/holiday, where would they be interested in going to?He would want to go to L.A, as that's where he claims to be from and is where many of his favourite glam metal bands are from.
4. What qualities or skills does your character believe others value them for?This is a hard one, because most people can't stand Maxx, and within good reason. He is not a good person and doesn't have talent or really any good qualities about him. But Maxx himself believes that he's a musical prodigy, everyone is jealous of him and all the women in the world want him! I suppose the only quality people actually value in Maxx is that he makes them laugh with his stupid antics and bad music! xD That and the hatred of him seems to bring people together.
5. If they lost these qualities or skills, do they fear to lose their value? Or do they have confidence in their own self beyond qualities and skills?No, because he's Maxxy Malone, gosh dammit!! He's special and amazing just for being Maxxy Malone!! The only thing he would be devastated to lose would be his "Sex Beest Mane" Which is his rat's nest of a mullet. It is the most valuable thing in the world to Maxx! x'D
6. Does your character draw motivation/strength from someone they care about or a cause/ambition they have/follow?Maxx copies everyone and has no original bone in his body. He is also a jealous and bitter person and will try to one-up people, trying to beat them at a game they're not even playing. And he fails so hard at this, usually resulting in him being a laughing stock. xD
7. Does your character believe that life follows a natural order, or do they believe they can create their own fate?He perceives himself as being like god's gift to this earth, especially women. He believes everything is there for his the taking. People are just tools he can use to get what he wants from them.
8. How does your character view emotions and reason?Maxx has no common sense and his sense of logic is very flawed. He is very reckless and will throw a tantrum when things don't go his way. He wants things NOW and never plans things out or waits for them. There's no reasoning with Maxx. He's not bright and he can be relentlessly nasty when he feels like he's been wronged by someone.
